Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas
The award-winning Wildlife Habitat is Australia’s leading environmental wildlife experience, providing visitors with a chance to observe up close a huge range of flora and fauna. Situated at Port Douglas, Tropical North Queensland, Wildlife Habitat was constructed in 1988 on 8 acres (2 hectares) of land that has been recreated to provide a window into our natural environment. The wildlife park aims to bring about observation, appreciation and conservation. Through educating customers on native species and making them appreciate the animals, Wildlife Habitat hope that they will be more inclined to change things in their every day lives to help conserve these species. With an Advanced Ecotourism Accreditation, Wildlife Habitat is committed to conservation via its wildlife rescue program the Tropical Animal Rehabilitation Centre, ensuring that injured, orphaned, or sick animals are looked after in a professional and caring manner.
Divided into five distinct environments, the Woodland, Wetlands, Rainforest, Savannah and Nocturnal. Wildlife Habitat is unlike any other zoo or wildlife experience you have ever encountered.
Hand feed free-roaming kangaroos and wallabies in our Savannah Habitat, wander through the starlight walk in our Nocturnal Habitat and be immersed in the wet tropics at every level in our Rainforest Habitat.
Visit this Port Douglas zoo and you will thoroughly enjoy immersing yourself in the park, meeting the animals, and making memories to last a lifetime!
