We have used the down time of 2020 to undergo a re-brand. You may know us as FNQ Apartments but Lorosa Coast will take over offering the same fantastic properties and customer service that our guests love. The good news is that we are taking our expertise in the accommodation booking space and expanding to other popular coastal locations around Australia!! 

What are your cancellation terms?

We have hundreds of suppliers all with their own terms and conditions around cancellations and refunds.

We know things come up that force you to cancel a holiday so we try to keep our terms as easy as possible.

When we send you your quote we'll include our general terms and conditions so you know what you're getting when you book with FNQ Apartments/Lorosa Coast.

Terms and conditions for individual hotel properties are at the bottom of the listing on our website. 

Terms and conditions for privately managed apartments will be provided by email at the time the deposit payment request is sent as they depend on which property manager the apartment is booked with. 

Payment of the deposit indicates acceptance of these terms. 

Please note COVID19 may impact your future booking and although this may be out of your hands, now that travellers are aware of the impacts caused by COVID and imposed travel bans, you may still be liable for the full amount of booked tours, transfers and accommodation. Ask us if you're unsure about a policy, we're here to help! 

Why don't you have a live booking option?

With access to so many suppliers, some of whom don't have live calendars themselves, we wouldn't be able to show you accurate availability.

We have access to privately managed apartments and can book directly with hotels. This works in our favour particularly for groups who need a variety of room types and locations. It increases your chance of getting the room type you want, in the property you want.

We wouldn't want you to see something as unavailable on our website with one supplier when we could source a similar room with another who doesn't have live availability.

As part of our free service we also do the price comparison for you so that you don't have to go from page to page comparing prices!

How are you different to Booking.com or AirBnB?

We are a niche booking agent specialising in tropical Far North Queensland and other beautiful coastal locations around Australia. We love sharing our knowledge and experience with visitors to make their holiday relaxing and memorable. 

We specialise in booking privately managed holiday apartments which means savings for our customers! The only difference with these properties is that the owner doesn't have them managed through the hotel chain. 

It benefits our customers in that they can choose a specific location and guarantee when they check in, they are getting the room they asked for. For example many of our families with kids love booking ground floor direct access rooms at the Beach Club. Some prefer a swim out at Sea Temple and sometimes the adults like the penthouse. 

We cater for large groups like weddings and family reunions. We book corporate stays including long stay accommodation. We arrange transfers from a seat in a coach to a stretch limo and we book tours all over FNQ. 

You get to speak to a real person or for our large bookings and complicated itineraries we can meet in person in either Cairns or Melbourne to discuss ideas. Essentially you get our knowledge and experience for free when you book your holiday. The online booking sites have their place but for a service that costs nothing we like to think our customers are better looked after when they book through Lorosa Coast. 

Is it necessary to have travel insurance for Australian travel?

We strongly recommend travel insurance and be sure to know what yours will cover.

Ok, it is only Australia however we have had one guest who broke his leg playing touch footy the night before he was due to travel. Luckily he had travel insurance or he would have been liable for accommodation, flights and tranfers.

We recommend travel insurance covers loss of deposit or payments due to cancellation of accommodation, damage to luggage, changes to flights, medical expenses and any additional costs associated with changes to plans eg additional accommodation.

When is the best time to travel to North Queensland?

We think anytime is the best time!! Being serious though, we do have times that many people prefer to come.

You might like to know that peak seasons are as follows:-

  • Around the beginning of June to the end of October however each property manager can be a little different so it is worth asking
  • Also from 24 December to around mid January.

Unofficially though, the week either side of the Easter break is always very heavily booked well in advance, as are all school holiday dates.  So we recommend you book these even up to 12 months in advance.  Many regulars know the lie of the land and book for next year while they are there.

The school holidays are always the first to book out, however the peak season gets very busy and if you have specific wants or a restricted in when you can travel, please book well in advance to avoid being disappointed.

There are favourite properties as well and these also book out up to a year in advance. For example the Beach Clubs in Port Douglas and Palm Cove require advance bookings if you are looking for something specific otherwise be prepared to take what is available.

Our top tip here is book early!!

What happens after I have made a reservation?

Our team will ensure the product is still available and get it booked for you and email you your reservation and payment details.

Once the deposit is received, we will send you email confirmation of your reservation which will include any future payments associated with your reservations along with details about check in.

If you are required to pay the balance for your reservation, this will be due 5 weeks prior to your arrival and we will be in touch then to remind you of the amount and date this is due.  Relax, we will take care of the details for you.

Then one week prior to your arrival we will be in touch to see if we can assist with anything eg transfers. And also to make sure we have your arrival details and preferred bedding which must be organised in advance.

Otherwise, we welcome your contact and queries at any time.

What if I want to amend my reservation?

Provided it is available, we will assist you to alter any reservations you have.  There may be some time restrictions though eg you may not be able to change a transfer via a private car.

Some properties do not allow changes to reservation within certain time periods eg 14 days or in some cases 30 days.

Please email us your request and we will respond as quickly as we can.  Or give us a ring to find out if there is availability to alter.

How do I make a reservation?

Once you have seen all of the information you need to make a decision and all of your questions are answered, you can advise us to make a reservation for you in the following ways:-

  • Using the booking button on the relevant page on our website (note this will be dependent on availability)
  • When you make an enquiry, you can also ask us to book that option (note this will be dependent on availability)
  • Reply to one of our emails to you requesting us to make your reservation
  • You can ring us on 1300 731 620

At the time of making a reservation, a deposit will be required.  Our friendly team will advise you of the amount required to secure your reservation and the options available for payment.

What happens after I make an enquiry?

Once we receive your enquiry, one of our expert travel consultants will respond.  Sometimes we will give you a ring so it is great to have your phone number.  That lets us clarify anything we are not sure and offer the best possible match for what you are looking for. At times, we might like to give you a ring if there is just one Apartment left available and you want it!! We would hate you to miss out. Be assured we are not going to drive you crazy with phone calls.

Alternatively we will send you an email reply to your enquiry and that will include availability, price and additional details.
