Title : Top Tips for Relaxed Travelling to Far North Queensland

Here are a few top tips relating to things you can do to make your journey up to come and see us pass that bit more speedily and pleasantly.

Yes, we know some of these are stating the obvious but you might be surprised at how often they are overlooked!

1. Try and get an early night and a good night’s sleep before you leave. Travelling when you are short of sleep and therefore tired, just makes any holiday journey seem that bit more tedious.

2. Bring something to pass the time. It doesn’t really matter how you’re travelling, make sure you’ve got some books, DVD players, games or whatever with you. This is a really big issue if you are travelling with younger children, as they get bored quickly if they have nothing to do and that is going to start fraying your nerves.

3. Bring a few basic cosmetics and toiletries so you can freshen up regularly. This is not really a personal hygiene issue, more that it will simply make you feel better and give you something to do. That’ll help the journey pass that bit faster.

4. Do likewise with a few bits and pieces by way of snacks. While we wouldn’t normally advise anyone to pig-out between meals, just a few basic snacks occasionally may yet again help to break up the journey and pass time.

Of course, holiday journeys are always easier on the way out than on the way back home. In the former you are of course looking forward to your holiday whereas with the latter you are ‘looking forward’ to getting back to your business-as-usual routine

The solution to that one is easy. On the way home, just flick through our information on our Cairns, Palm Cove and Port Douglas accommodation. It’ll get you thinking about your next holiday!
