If you decide to venture out at some point from the comfort of your Port Douglas accommodation, check out Sky Safari. They are FNQ’s most innovative ‘personalized air touring company’ (which basically means they’ll fly you by helicopter to any place in FNQ that you fancy). They have an amazing brochure full of ideas – everything from coral cays to the outback wilderness. I defy anybody not to be inspired by the day trips they can offer.

I flew with them from Cairns to Port Douglas for lunch. We went up over the Reef and back over land. It was absolutely fantastic and highly recommended.

Definitely memorable and likely to be one of the best things you ever do. They also do tie-in’s with other adventure activities like white water rafting.
