Dining Out in Cairns on Valentine's Day

We are often asked to recommend somewhere to eat and you can imagine this is a tricky thing to advise as sometimes things change in establishments.  We are constantly monitoring the eateries for value, ambience, quality and overall enjoyment.  In no particular order, these are our favourites, some having withstood the test of 11 years of dining:-

·         Toscas at Cairns Central – you can sit on the balcony

·         Barrons Bistro at Freshwater Railway Station where the Kuranda Scenic train departs.

·         Tamerind at the Casino

·         NOA at Edge Hill near the Botanic Gardens so stroll on down after brekky

·         Che Zest bakery and dining – lovely spot, interesting bakery items

·         Tia’s Café  227 Sheridan St, Cairns North.  Hard to find and well worth it when you do

·         Ganbaranba – lunch or dinner, have the gyoza for sure.  You may have to que for dinner though so we choose lunch here

·         Salt House – best during the day for the views

·         Dundees – lunch or dinner – both great but you get the views during the day

·         Corea Corea – simply great Korean

·         Tamarind at the Casino – also great for brekky

·         Fettas Greek – if you are starving have the banquet – otherwise consider sharing a meal

·         Waterbar and Grill – fantastic all-rounder with the best steaks

·         Thai Coins – the suburbs, best Thai in Cairns

·         Fusion Art Bar & Tapas – a newcomer on the scene, aiming high and very, very good
