Now it is true that if you’re staying in our Port Douglas holiday accommodation, you’re around 60k or so from Cairns. That’s hardly an epic expedition but it has to be said that it’s not quite on your doorstep either. If you’ve selected Port Douglas for its idyllic “away from it all charm” and tranquillity, then you probably won’t want to spend a lot of time on the road picking up all those bits and pieces you either forgot or decided not to bring with you!
There are some boutique style shops and a market in Port Douglas but for more serious shopping you’d need to toddle along to Cairns. If the thought of that doesn’t appeal, then you may need to bring a few more of your must-have possessions with you.
