Title : Visit the Atherton Tablelands

Have you heard of the Atherton Tablelands?

If you haven’t, you should have done!

OK, we admit that we’re a little bit nuts about our part of the world but this part of Far North Queensland is just breathtakingly beautiful. It’s a little way south-west of Cairns and it’s hard to know where to start in terms of listing its numerous attractions.

Just for a taster, there is the incomparably picturesque “Millaa Millaa Falls”. There are also many other such falls to see in the area.

Then there are the incredible Undara lava tunnels. If you like geology and volcanos, then this will be for you.

Hot springs, cave complexes, a national park and rich cultural heritage, this area has it all.

We hesitate to mention it for fear of deserting the intellectual high ground but some argue that this part of FNQ has some of the best pubs in Australia.  Yep, you can go on a special ‘pub trail’ to explore them all around Atherton. You might love it – even if you don’t necessarily remember it all too clearly afterwards!

We’re experts on this area and our luxury Cairns accommodation provides an ideal base for exploration. The local Atherton tourist offices have also produced some really excellent self-drive exploratory guides too, particularly useful if you’re one of those who prefer to explore by yourself rather than in more organised groups with set itineraries.

Alternatively, we can arrange a tour for you and that might appeal (and keep you on the right side of the law) if you’re planning to sample some of those world-famous pubs.

So, why not give us a call? You can get more information not only about the Atherton Tablelands but also some of the great accommodation deals we have on offer at the moment.

We’re waiting to hear from you!
