It’s only 3 hours and good value at $59.
With the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest nearby, many tourists overlook Trinity Inlet. In fact, many of the locals have never even seen it!
If staying in Cairns Accommodation Cairns Habitat Cruises are the only tour operator taking tourists up the Inlet (they also go to Green Island so you can do a combined package). Trinity Inlet is a National Marine Park and a maze of waterways winding through 300 square kilometers of mangrove forests – only a few minutes from the centre of Cairns and you feel as though you are in a remote wilderness.
If you like nature tours and beautiful scenery you’ll enjoy this (especially bird watchers). After the boat cruise they take you on a tour of Cairns Crocodile Farm but don’t expect Irwin Family-type entertainment and jumping crocs – this is a commercial enterprise and produces the worlds highest grade croc skins. They exclusively supply Hermes for those $60,000 Hermes handbags! This tour is a really fascinating insight in to the croc farming industry – if you’ve got kids ask them about their Family Fun Paks.
P.S We actually saw a wild croc in the middle of the Inlet too!
